A Class Act NY’s Pre-Professional Program is for a select group of young artists who are ready for the challenge of growing their theatre performance skills and are looking forward to exploring more advanced work.
Pre-Professional Program faculty include Broadway Theatre Actors and Industry Professionals interested in sharing methods and insights with those seeking to expand their craft and explore creative expression.
Broadway Matinee: On Wednesday, July participants are treated to a Broadway Matinee performance of BEAUTIFUL (Junior) or THE GREAT COMET (Senior) and a Talkback with cast members! August participants are treated to a Broadway Matinee performance of ON YOUR FEET (Junior) or COME FROM AWAY (Senior) and a Talkback with cast members!
Private lessons and group instruction: A combination of private and group instruction will provide participants with a unique week-long experience.
Focus of Summer Intensive:
•Scene Study and Script Analysis • Vocal Technique • Private Voice Lessons • Musical Theatre Audition Technique • Dance Workshop • Group Rehearsal for the Final Showcase
Off-Broadway Final Showcase: This program ends in a final performance designed to showcase the skills and challenging material students have mastered throughout the week!

Video Audition Instructions:
Please sing 32-bars, a cappella, of a musical theatre song that is age appropriate and perform a one-minute contemporary monologue from a staged play (stay away from classical material such as Shakespeare). Click here for self-tape guidelines and video submission instructions.
