6-Week Voice-Over

Ages 10-18! All Skill Levels! 

Instructor: Voice-Over, On-Camera and Broadway Actor and Producer, Ashley Kate Adams (UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT, RULES OF COOL, Broadway’s LA CAGE AUX FOLLES)

Voice-over acting is unlike any other type of acting. It requires an actor to make bold, gutsy choices that are original and specific, and outside of the box.

Learn the art of voiceover acting in a professional recording studio!

Learn how to create living, breathing animated characters for cartoons and animated feature films. We will also work on naturalistic reads for commercials, and radio spots.

Class culminates with a performance in the studio for a top VO Casting Director and two actively scouting VO Agents!

11-Week Workshop Production of WILLY WONKA KIDS

All Skill Levels! Ages 5-6 and 7-11 (2 separate sessions)!

Instructor: Professional Actor and Singer, Rebecca O’Sullivan (The New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, The National Chorale at Lincoln Center, Obama Christmas Party) and a Broadway Star

Over 11 Saturdays, youngsters will learn lines, songs, and of course dance numbers from the Kids version of the beloved musical, WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY! Students will tell the magical tale of Charlie’s journey through Wonka’s magical candy factory straight from the pages of Roald Dahl’s classic book!

Class culminates in a final performance in the studio for loved ones and a few invited Talent Reps!

The first class will be dedicated to getting acquainted with one another through fun warm-ups and exercises. Roles will be assigned in the second class.

12-Week Drop-In Cold Read: Commercials, Voiceover, Monologue and TV/Film Sides

Ages 11 & up! All Skill Levels!

Instructor: Broadway and Television Star John Hemphill (SCHOOL OF ROCK, MAMMA MIA!, BILLIONS, MR. ROBOT)

Actors are often asked to read cold in both auditions and in your preliminary meeting with an agent. Of course as actors we always want to do the best we can in the room and that’s why its imperative for actors to sharpen their cold read skills.

Learn how to quickly pick up text with no time to prepare, break down the script and bring your best self to the audition room despite your lack of time with the material.

Every week, students will be presented with new material based on a weekly theme. We will cover Commercial cold reads, TV, Film, Monologues and Voiceover. Little factoid: commercials are always cold reads! Actors will NEVER receive the copy in advance to prepare!

Can’t commit to all 12 classes? Come for one class, sign up for a few, or take all 12! Pay for all 12 at once, or pay by the class!

Final Showcase: Students who can commit to all 12-Weeks will have perform their newly honed cold read skills in a Showcase for family, friends and scouting Talent Reps!

Instructor: Broadway’s, Lauren “Coco” Cohn (Mamma Mia!)

Students will learn the in’s and out’s and the art of creating a memorable and exceptional cabaret performance! Topics will include mic technique, how to write “patter” (the spoken lines between songs), and how to create a unique performance!

The class will conclude in the chance to perform a solo in an ACANY Cabaret!

Instructor: A Professional On-Camera Actor!

Commercial acting is harder than it looks! You never get the copy in advance so it’s almost always a COLD READ AUDITION!

Young actors will learn how to nail cold read commercial auditions. Budding thespians will learn how to quickly analyze commercial copy and find the acting beats within the text to make a lasting impression on both casting directors and on ad agency executives!

Improvisation also plays a crucial role in commercial auditions. Actors will learn to identify comedic clues within the text as well as physical techniques that allow them to deliver material in a way that will set them apart in their auditions. Sharpen your improv skills and learn how to incorporate them into your performance.

Final Showcase: The 5-week program culminates with a Final Showcase for friends, family as well as Talent Reps in which students have an opportunity to showcase their talent.

Teen Drama is an on-camera class geared toward actors interested in learning techniques found in popular teen dramas, such as RIVERDALE, VAMPIRE DIARES, THE BOLD TYPE, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, GOSSIP GIRL, THE O.C. and SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER!

Students will also learn to identify clues within the text as well as physical techniques to deliver the material that will help set them apart in their auditions.

Instructor: Broadway’s own, Natalie Wisdom (GROUNDHOG DAY, BILLY ELLIOT)

Work up close and personal with Broadway’s Natalie Wisdom and a wonderful music director on song and dance combinations from varying musical theatre eras. In this all skill level enrichment course, students will gain exposure to different musical theatre eras from Rodgers and Hammerstein all the way to hip pop musicals such as Hamilton!

Focus of class:
• Gain musical theatre history and a great overview of Broadway styles through learning different song and dance combinations from different eras
• Work on honing acting technique through scene-work with fellow actors
• Hone your singing, vocal and dance abilities in a fun, safe and supportive environment

Final Showcase: Each session culminates with a Final Showcase for family, friends as well as Talent Reps in which students have an opportunity to showcase their talent.
