NYC Broadway Boot Camp – June and July

Broadway Stars and wonderful Music Directors are your kids instructors for the week!

A Class Act NY, Manhattan’s award winning acting studio for kids and teens is now accepting registration for performers of all skill levels, ages 7-18, to participate in our Broadway Boot Camp! Campers will be split up into three groups according to age and will work with a Broadway Actor and Professional Music Director on song and dance combos from beloved Broadway musicals that will be performed at the end of the week for friends and family!

When not in rehearsal, campers will work on improvisation skills, vocal technique, dance skills and hone their acting abilities while participating in theatrical games and exercises! Recent and upcoming staff include:  Laura Osnes, Adam Jacobs, Will Chase, Santino Fontana and Corey Cott!

‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ Camp – Junior or Senior

All Skill Levels! Space is Limited! 

INTRODUCING AN EXCITING NEW CAMP!

In this amazing 4-day, on-camera intensive, our youngest ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ campers will work with a bonafide NYC on-camera actor and hone their on-camera performance and audition technique!

On-Camera acting requires a very specific set of skills different from stage acting – this is THE CAMP to learn how to refine your audition technique and performance for the camera!

On-Camera Workshops With Guest Artists Include:
••• How to Self-Tape
••• Improvisation Skills for On-Camera Auditions
••• Identifying Comedic Beats in Commercial Copy and Sitcom Sides
••• How to Use Your Physicality On-Camera

Campers will also learn how to slate properly for auditions, nail self-tape auditions, be subtle and authentic on-camera actors and how to improve their acting by viewing their performances during playback sessions.

Participants will work on age appropriate commercial, sitcom and dramatic scripts throughout the week and learn the specific tone in which each of these genres is written and how that informs our acting choices.

Learn the different audition techniques required for Nick and Disney sitcoms vs. dramatic procedurals like BLUE BLOODS and LAW & ORDER!

NYC Little Guys Camp

All Skill Levels! Space is Limited! 

A Broadway Star is your child’s instructor for the week! Introduce your ‘Little Guy’ to the magic of the performing arts in this one-week musical theatre summer camp!

Every day, lucky campers rehearse song and dance numbers, learn proper singing technique and expand their theatrical knowledge under the guidance of an experienced Broadway Star and Teaching Artist. Campers also get to craft the props and costume pieces that will be incorporated into the final performance!

On the last day of camp, ‘Little Guys’ make their ‘Off-Broadway Debut’ in a recital for family and friends at the studio!

Campers are sure to emerge with a new found confidence, improved technique and a greater appreciation for the performing arts!

A Broadway Star will be your child’s instructor for the week! NYC Camp ACA is a 1-week Broadway camp that has kids clamoring to come back each summer!

Workshops with Broadway Actors Include:

••• Intro to Shakespeare
••• Intro to Stage Combat
••• Intro to Stage Makeup

During lunch break, Broadway Actors visit with campers to answer questions and sign autographs!

Broadway Matinee:
On Wednesday, ACA campers are treated to a Broadway Matinee and a Talk Back! Last summer’s matinees included THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, HAMILTON, THE KING AND I, and FINDING NEVERLAND!

Off-Broadway Debut – The Final Showcase:
At the end of the week, campers make their Off-Broadway Debut in a Final Showcase at an exciting Off-Broadway Theatre in NYC!

Broadway Bound and ‘Light’s, Camera, Action!’ Camp in Dallas, TX

Join us Monday, July 11 – Friday, July 15 for our musical theatre based Broadway Bound Camp or Monday, July 18 – Friday, July 22 for our Disney and Nickelodeon themed ‘Light’s, Camera, Action!’ Camp or join us for both weeks and save $100!

A Class Act NY, New York City’s award-winning acting studio for kids and teens is back at the Dallas J this summer with not one but two amazing 1-week performing arts camps taught by actual Broadway and On-Camera Performers straight from NYC!

Kids who love musical theatre will be clamoring for our Broadway Bound Camp, in which lucky participants will have the unique opportunity to hone their musical theatre chops in a super fun and supportive environment alongside a Broadway Performer and Music Director!

The following week, our Disney and Nickelodeon themed ‘Light’s, Camera, Action!’ Camp will introduce participants to the ins-and-outs of on-camera acting, how to nail auditions like a pro and book those coveted roles on Disney and Nick shows!

As part of their training, campers in both programs will take 1-hour workshops throughout the week!

Broadway Bound campers will make their “Off-Off Broadway Debut” in a musical revue in which the campers perform song and dance combinations from their favorite Broadway shows such as MATILDA, ALADDIN, WICKED, FINDING NEVERLAND and more! Our ‘Lights Camera, Action!’ campers will perform actual Disney and Nickelodeon scenes in front of a live ‘studio’ audience filled with adoring fans – their family and friends!

Broadway Camp ACA in Cleveland, Ohio

All Skill Levels! Space is limited!

A Class Act NYManhattan’s award-winning acting studio for kids and teens is thrilled to be returning to the Olmsted Community Center in Olmsted Falls, Monday, July 11 – Friday, July 15!

In this amazing 5-day Broadway Camp, lucky campers work up close and personal with Broadway star Halle Morse (MAMMA MIA!) and the fabulous music director, Deborah “Ingy” Ingersoll, in a super educational and fun camp!

In addition to working with these industry pro’s, the camp will culminate in a performance for family and friends!

Off-Off Broadway Debut
In this performance driven camp, kids and teens will hone their skills by learning song and dance combinations from classic and contemporary Broadway shows that will later be performed at the Olmsted Community Center’s own “Studio Stage” in a musical revue! Everyone will have an opportunity to shine and all campers will be featured and have solos in the showcase!

As Mr. William Shakespeare said, “The play’s the thing!”

In this craft based straight acting camp, Broadway performers work with budding thespians on scenes and monologues which will later be performed for family and friends at an exciting, Off-Broadway Theatre in Manhattan!

Workshops with Broadway Actors:
When not in rehearsal for the Final Showcase, campers take one-hour workshops with Broadway actors all throughout the week.

INTRODUCING A NEW MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP!

A Class Act NY is proud to announce the birth of a NEW Musical Theatre Program, CABARET CAMP!

In this weeklong program, campers of all skill levels will work with a Broadway Performer/Director and a wonderful Music Director on what will ultimately be a fantastic cabaret performance at an Off-Broadway Theatre in NYC! All students will be featured in solo performances, small group numbers and two big full-cast numbers! 

Camp Cabaret will be focused directly on showcasing all of our campers individually! If you are a strong dancer, a strong singer or a triple threat, you will put your best foot forward in our big musical finale, The Cabaret!

In addition to rehearsing for the A Class Act NY Cabaret, campers will take workshops with special guest Broadway Actors!
